Aminata joined IBP in 2020 as the SPARK Program Officer for Senegal. She supports IBP Senegal’s work on strengthening public accountability and bolstering the capacities of social movements to engage in budget processes.
Her role also includes facilitating strategy and monitoring and evaluation processes. Prior to joining IBP, Aminata has worked as a consultant on several projects of institutions such as the ILO, the HIVA Institute of KU Leuven, the Institute of Research for Development (IRD) and the Research Laboratory on Economic and Social Transformations (LARTES). She was also previously a Fellow at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Aminata holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Chicago with a specialization in political economy and development. She is passionate about women’s empowerment, social change and redistributive policies.
