Patrick Kwabena Stephenson

Senior Program Officer, IBP Ghana

Patrick Stephenson joined IBP in October 2020, as a Senior Program Officer for the IBP Ghana office where he’ll be working closely with agency groups and budget advocacy organizations to build partnerships for making budgets effective for service delivery, while strengthening public financial management systems in Ghana.

Most recently, Patrick was the head of policy research for an Accra based policy think tank, where he worked to hold governments accountable for the design and implementation of credible policies. Prior to that, he was the economic research analyst for First Atlantic Bank, providing market insights to guide the strategic positioning of the Bank in Ghana. Patrick has private consulting experience ranging across 14 African markets on financial and regulatory compliance, market entry strategies, deal structuring and business value propositioning.

Patrick is a Mandela Washington Fellow in Leadership and Civic Engagement, a Bloomberg Media Initiative for Africa fellow for practicing journalists, a DANIDA Fellow on Aid Effectiveness in Africa, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper (Accra Hub), and holds a Master’s Degree in Development Finance and Economics from the University of Ghana.
