Pooja joined the International Budget Partnership in 2020 and is based in New Delhi, India. With 18 years of progressive work experience, Pooja has managed initiatives to support policy and advocacy, including Strategic Planning at Tata Trusts. She has worked with Oxfam India where she managed Research and a niche portfolio known as “India and the World” with an aim to influence policy. Pooja led a campaign to influence the Post-2015 Development Agenda (also known as the Sustainable Development Goals) with a national civil society network Wada Na Todo Abhiyan (WNTA) from a Southern, rights-based perspective. Formerly, she was associated with Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability (CBGA) where, among other responsibilities, her focus was on budgeting for education and understanding implementation bottlenecks in social sector programs.

Pooja studied at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Delhi School of Economics and has authored publications on financing for education, education policy, and Sustainable Development Goals.
