Thando Mhlanga joined the International Budget Partnership South Africa in 2019 as the Coordinator of the Social Audit Network (SAN). The SAN, hosted by IBPSA, is a network of civil society organisations and communities that conduct social audits across South Africa. Thando has been involved in several social audits and have trained close to 200 community members, paralegals, and organisations conducting social audits and has contributed to the strategic growth of the SAN.
Thando spent 2015 and early 2016 interning at the Republic of South Africa Presidency in the Department of Planning Monitoring and Evaluations in the Evaluations and Research Unit. While interning she was involved in the first stages of the Human Settlements Evidence Map and the first stages of the Impact Evaluation of the Land Restitution Programme for the Department of Human Settlements. She has a degree in Development Studies and a degree in Audiovisual Communications from the University of Johannesburg.
